Shopping Carts

Design we have invested a lot of time in researching Shopping Carts and
E-Commerce solutions. After investigating a wide variety of companies and software
programs available we have come up with an excellent solution for your “On-Line”
Store needs.
One of the challenges we faced was finding a
shopping cart that could be programmed to carry through the general design of the main
part of a client’s web site as well as fulfill all of the customer's requirements.
The shopping cart had to be not only customizable but also very easy for the customer to
use while being appealing to the eye. We wanted a cart that could be created so that the
customer did not have to spend a lot of time reviewing a set of complicated directions
before actually going into the shopping cart to start shopping on line.
Another requirement of this shopping cart system
was a web based product input form so that our client’s could do the administration
(adding and deleting products) themselves if they so desired once we do the initial
set-up. We also needed a cart that would offer e-commerce solutions for our clients that
currently did not accept credit cards. Working closely with GCIS NET, we have come up with a
solution which is the perfect blend of ease of use, artistic capabilities, and e-commerce
enabled.
What is the
difference between Shopping Carts
and E-Commerce?
There has always been some confusion by the general public as well as those
wishing to become part of the web explosion of online stores as to what is a shopping cart
and what is e-commerce. . .?
E-Commerce is the complete solution from
shopping carts to accepting credit cards on the web. A Shopping Cart is the vehicle by
which your products are displayed to the general buying public. It allows a customer to
order a product and have it automatically added to a “shopping cart” just as if
they were adding merchandise to a shopping cart at a local grocery store. When they are
finished, they “check out” and receive a total of what they ordered as well as
any shipping charges. If a merchant already has a VISA/MC/Discover acceptance program in
his regular store or business, the order will be e-mailed to them over a secure server.
What that means to the customer is that their credit card information is scrambled until
it is picked up at the other end. Once the “store owner” receives the credit
card and order information, then he or she will process the credit card in their normal
fashion.
E-Commerce solutions takes that step out of the
hands of the “store owner”. The credit card is processed before it ever reaches
the store owner enabling them to just ship the merchandise out without the hassle of
having to clear the credit card. Our shopping cart is partnered with Cincharge and your
store can have this automatically configured in so that there is no hassle in the set up.
